Top tips to make sure you bridal make-up lasts longer
Want your wedding makeup to last all day? There are a few beauty tips and tricks you can do to make sure your big day face stays in one place!

Exfoliate
The key to getting your make-up to last is a nice smooth base, and this all starts by cleaning out those pores! In the run up to your wedding exfoliate twice a week to slough away dead cells. We love Micro Exfoliating Balm by Oskia (£48).
Moisturise
To stop make-up slipping and clumping in creases during the day apply a balancing moisturiser. Keep it light to avoid that greasy face feeling – try a pea-sized amount of Pro-Collagen Marine Cream by Elemis (£82) for hydrated smooth skin.
It’s all about the base
For a smooth even surface you really do need a primer. It’s your make-up from being absorbed into pores and adds ultimate staying power to your foundation. Protect and Prime SPF30 by Emma Hardie (£45) forms the perfect base for a long-lasting bridal look.
HOW TO TREAT A WEDDING DAY SPOT
Eye wear
To stop your eye-show forming into very attractive creases of colour (who knew greasy eyelids could be such a problem?!) you need an amazing eyeshadow primer too. The Photo Finish 24 Hour Shadow Primer from Smashbox (£19) acts like a magnet for your eye-make-up.

Every make-up artist will tell you the secret to long-lasting make-up is lots of layering. If you’re doing your own wedding make-up, build up coverage and colour slowly with sponges and brushes. Give yourself plenty of time to get it right and watch a few handy YouTube tutorials to master the technique.
Lip liner
The key to stopping your lipstick bleeding out through the creases round your mouth is to line your lips, focusing on the Cupid’s bow and corners of the mouth. Fill in your lipstick with a brush for added precision.
Fix up, look sharp
Use a light powder to dust your T-zone and set the make-up under your eyes. Spritz your whole face with fixing spray such as Make-Up Fixing Mist by Pixi (£16) to make sure everything stays in place.
Avoid reapplication
Avoid continually putting on more layers throughout the day as this can create a cakey finish. Do small touch ups and use blotting paper to keep your face from going shiny in front of the camera. Et voilà ! Long lasting make-up is yours!
