1 Start With Highlighter

To give your skin a healthy sheen — which is what would happen naturally from the sun — apply a creamy champagne highlighter (use gold for olive or dark skin) along your cheekbones, brow bones, and the tip of your nose. Pat to blend.

2 Create Subtle Contour

This prevents the bronzer from looking flat. Swipe a shimmer-free cream stick that's one to two shades darker than your skin into the hollows of your cheeks. With a large brush, swirl over the line in circular motions, working up to your hairline.

3 Give Cheeks Some Color

It might seem weird to apply blush before bronzer, but this way, you'll get a hint of rosiness peeking through from underneath. Rub a cream formula in a rosy pink shade on the apples of your cheeks, then buff away the edges with your fingers.

4 Dust On Bronzer

Now you're ready for the golden stuff. Choose a matte powder no more than two shades darker than your skin. Sweep it along the perimeter of your face, then on your forehead, nose, and chin, plus a touch under the cheekbones. Perfection!
