When
shopping for your wedding dress, it’s all about what works for you. But
sometimes, trends are so prominent they’re practically impossible to
ignore. For Fall 2017, wedding dresses are borrowing from the designer
runways and taking your ultimate fashion statement to the next level.

We
partnered with our friends at Maggie Sottero Designs to bring you the
only Fall 2017 wedding dress trends you need to know about—from
intricate back details to over-the-top sleeves.
Back Details
If
wedding dresses had a say for 2017, it would be all about your walk
back UP the aisle. “It’s all about back interest and surprising
details,” said Maggie Sottero Designs representative Suzanne Robbins.

Wedding
dresses with cutout backs, key holes, very sexy low backs and even low
backs with illusion lace are at the top of brides’ list of demands this
year. Our favorites from Maggie Sottero, Sinclaire and Evangelina,
featuring pretty straps details and crystal-embellished back interest.
Lace
Call
it the never-ending Kate Middleton effect. “Lace continues to be very
prominent,” said Robbins. And why not? It’s ultra-feminine, universally
flattering, and instantly takes an otherwise simple gown up a
notch. Case in point? The pretty lace layers on Octavia and illusion
details on Kaitlyn—two fabulous (and affordable!) styles from the newest
Rebecca Ingram collection.

And while brides in
different parts of the country are looking for different things (sleek
and clean on the East Coast and all about glitz and glam in the Southern
States), lace seems to be the trend that just keeps reinventing itsel
Dramatic Sleeves
“Sleeves
are huge!” said Robbins. From bateau necklines with cap sleeves to
wrist-length in lace, and even elbow-length with a retro vibe — sleeves
are THE trend dominating weddings this year.
Three
standouts in the Maggie Sottero and Sottero and Midgley collections,
Cordelia, Allen, and Arleigh, are all about unique and elegant sleeves —
from three-quarter-length lace sleeves attached to a bateau neckline to
half-sleeves on a crystal-embellished ballgown, to long sleeves
accented in sexy illusion cutouts.

Fringe
“We
are definitely on the verge of seeing more fringe,” said Robbins. And
we couldn’t agree more — fringe details up the ante on style for any
bride. And let’s face it: a fringed gown like Liam by Sottero and
Midgley makes for just the most adorable Boomerang. Get ready to shimmy!
