Hair is one of the most essential parts of our body. Hair shapes your identity, lets you hide behind it, plays along with your mischief and never complains once. So it's only fair that we take good care of it, right?

Use Moroccan oil
We’ve all heard that coconut oil does wonders to your hair (and it does), but the new favorite is Moroccan oil. It repairs your damaged hair, especially hair that has been repeatedly exposed to styling products. It helps your hair grow faster and stronger. An added bonus would be that it isn’t as oily as coconut oil, so it won’t be hard to wash off in the shower!

Hair washing
One common mistake people make is to either wash their hair too frequently or not enough. Every person’s hair is different, so there isn’t a set number of mandatory washes per week, but one rule that I follow is to wash my hair whenever it gets oily. An easy way to figure that out is to comb it back—if your hair starts to set into place, it is getting oily and probably needs to be washed that day or the next.
3
Heat-free styles
This is probably something you’ve heard/seen on every hair care list ever, but that’s because it is incredibly important. Styling hair is a fun way to manage your tresses, but the less you do it, the healthier your hair will be, making it easier to manage. Try to reduce the amount of times, and the duration of your blow-drying. If it’s warm outside, let it air dry—it will bring out your hair’s best.

No tight/high buns
This one came as a surprise to me, but is important to let your hair down as much as you can. Putting your hair up in tight buns or ponytails yanks at the roots, and sometimes the baby hairs at the back of your head snap when you pull at them too hard/high. It might be the most comfortable hairdo for the day, but make sure you let your hair down at the end of it.
5
Avoid hot showers
We all love hot showers—they’re relaxing and give us plenty of time to think/enact scenarios that will never happen. However, they’re not as good for our hair. Cold showers are the best for the health of your hair, but that is pretty much impossible during the winters, so a lukewarm shower should do it.

Never shampoo your ends
Shampoo is for your scalp, and conditioner is for your hair. This is a golden rule. Shampooing hair ends results in split ends as we tend to scrub our hair ends. It seems natural to want to make sure your hair ends are clean (especially if you’re not using conditioner), but shampoo will run down when you turn the water on and that is enough to clean your hair ends. Your scalp is really what accumulates dirt and grime, and hence is what really needs the shampoo.
