Why in the summer does your skin become more oily?
With the summer months being warmer, it's natural for the skin to produce more sweat as the body tries to regulate your temperature. As a result, your complexion can become oilier and leave skin looking shiny. Although we like a luminous complexion, you don't want it to look shiny.
What are your top tips to combat shine?
Start with an oil control primer as they are designed to reduce the appearance of shine whilst soaking up any excess oil; I recommend the bareMinerals Blemish Remedy Mattifying Prep Gel which also contains tea tree oil and aspen bark to promote clearer, healthier-looking skin. I always keep blotting paper and a mattifying powder in my makeup bag for touch ups later in the day. Use a loose finishing powder to mattify your complexion without taking away your natural glow.
Can your environment/diet affect oily skin?
Changes in temperature can often confuse skin. Going from an air-conditioned office into warm direct sun and heat can cause you to suffer from combination skin. If your skin is feeling oily in places and dry in others, a lightweight moisturiser for combination skin is a must have. Diet also plays a key part, especially your fluid intake. It's important to keep your body and skin dehydrated. Dehydrated skin can often overcompensate and produce excess oil, so make sure to drink plenty of water.

How can you fix/tweak your makeup so it doesn't slide off?
I would always recommend using a primer, this creates a smooth base, perfect for your foundation application. It will also ensure that your make-up doesn't cling to dry skin and flake off. Once you have your perfect base, always set it with a finishing powder or finishing spray. I love bareMinerals Mineral Veil for make-up that last all day.
Et voila you're ready to take on the day like Bey!
