Jelly Nails Are the Newest Summer Manicure Trend You Can Actually Wear

The newest manicure trend to hit Instagram is none other than "jelly nails," which have a see-through, translucent look to them and feature bright colors.

They channel '90s nostalgia and here's why.

Out of all the bizarre and downright unconventional nail trends you've seen this year—teeth and corkscrew nails to name a few–there's finally a manicure you can actually get behind: cue jelly nails.

The slightly see-through, vibrant nail look has been popping up on Instagram recently with a name reminiscent of the jelly shoes we've all worn/know/love. Think juicy shades of pink, orange, yellow, and blue that'll transport you right back to fifth grade.

Per HelloGiggles, the bright, translucent shades are achieved by applying a clear tip to the nail or sculpting it with a clear, hard gel, and then adding a sheer, vibrant polish on top. Even Kylie Jenner's friend Heather Sanders dipped her tips in the jelly nail trend with a hot pink mani, featuring the Nike swoop logo on each pinky finger.

Bonus: The look is also versatile, since you can choose to do all your nails in the same polish or opt for a multi-colored style.

I just can't help but think how much better this looks than hair on your nails, amirite?
