[post_ads]The Disney princess brand has really branched out beyond the original "once upon a time...happily ever after" storyline — these days, you can imagine Disney princesses without makeup, watch what happens when Disney princesses realize what they gave up for true love, or see how Disney princesses would handle motherhood. If you prefer to really put yourself in their glass slippers shoes, you can even wear Disney princess bikinis or Disney princess lingerie. But you've never seen Disney princesses the way two photographers are portraying them: pregnant.
Husband-and-wife photography team Vic and Marie
recently released a series of photos featuring 5 moms-to-be dressed up
as your favorite Disney princesses, and — no surprise here — the
pictures are truly ~magical~.
"We
wanted to go outside of that box, something no one had tried to do as
of yet, and then it hit me, why not do all of the princesses in a group
shot, expecting sweet little babies, and showing off their beautiful
bump in a creative way?" Marie told Popsugar.
"It was a fun project for me being a huge fan of classic stories and
movies I grew up to and it was a fun project for Vic because it allowed
him to do something he normally doesn't get the chance to do often."
Shot at Newman's Castle, the stunning images are beautiful and whimsical, exactly what you'd expect of expecting princesses.

As joyful as the photos
are, they actually have a sad backstory. Vic and Marie had the idea for
the project after Marie suffered a miscarriage at eight weeks pregnant.
While their experience was heartbreaking, they decided to give their
pain a creative outlet — one that would help other women recognize how
special a time pregnancy can be, and remind them not to take it for
granted.
"We hope that
expecting mamas that see these sweet photos of mommies in a completely
different way than what is normally photographed and will give them the
inspiration to want to hire a photographer to take some beautiful
maternity photos!" she said. "It's such a sweet and beautiful moment in
your life, a moment that not many can experience, and a moment that
should be celebrated!"
