You wouldn't wear shoes that were a half-size too small, would you? So don't line your eyes in a way that doesn't fit them, either.

Make Small Eyes Seem Bigger
[post_ads]The irony is that small eyes will stand out best when it looks like you're not wearing any liner
at all, whereas a thick rim of black all around can drown them out. To
start, trace a creamy black pencil along your top lids, keeping it as
close to the lashes as possible. "The line should be almost undetectable
so it simply defines your lash lines,
which helps the lashes look naturally fuller," says Jessica Alba's
makeup artist Daniel Martin. Then, swap the black pencil for a
flesh-toned one and use that to line the inner rims of your bottom lids.
"This neutral shade tones down any redness and attracts light to the
area, making your eyes seem bright and open," Martin explains.
Create Definition On Flat Lids
If
your lids are more flat than curved, which is common in women of Asian
descent, "choose an eyeliner pencil with a slanted tip," Martin
suggests. Use the point to draw a thin line
right along your top lashes, starting from the inner corner. Then, when
you reach the outer third of the lid, use the slanted edge to thicken
the line to the corner. "To finish, lightly swoosh a small brush or your
pencil's smudger over the outer third of the lid for a soft, smoky
effect," he says. "This adds depth and contour that will help the lid
appear more curved, which in turn plays up your eyes even more."

Give Tired Eyes a Youthful Lift
A
bit of makeup magic can instantly deflect from crow's-feet or slightly
droopy lids — but instead of waving a wand, just flick up your eyeliner.
First, apply your mascara.
Then, gently pull up the skin at the outer corner of your lid to make
the inner rim easier to see, and line it with a waterproof black pencil
or pen liner. "Next, remove your finger and apply the liner along your
top lash line, drawing a tiny uptick at the outer corner that mimics the
curve of your outermost lash, as if you're extending it a little," says
Martin. "This helps the lid look lifted so you appear more awake
overall, but without looking like obvious winged eyeliner."
