Nine Inch Nails is no longer just a rock band — it is also a reality for 16-year-old Simone Christina, who reportedly has been growing out her nails for three full years. Yes, some people really are that patient (and able to function on a daily level with dangerously long nails).
[post_ads]Perhaps not surprisingly, Simone's nails have completely changed the way she lives her life, and we don't just mean ridding herself of the nail-biting compulsion. As she told The Sun, she had to relearn how to type, for instance, writing with her knuckles instead. She also can't play sports, a restriction that causes difficulties for her physical education. "My PE teachers are always trying to convince me to cut my nails. ...They’ll never succeed in convincing me — but that makes my grades in PE really bad," she says.
And as wild as it is to imagine life with six-inch nails, seeing the actual sight is just as surprising.
According to Simone, a lot of precautions are required to keep her nails in shape. She has to shower and dress with extra care not to snag anything, and to strengthen her nails, she uses two coats of nail hardener and cuticle oil every time she paints them. In total, she goes through at least two bottles of nail-varnish remover, cuticle oil, and hand cream monthly.
